2020 Toyota Altis Redesign, Specs, Engine
Toyota Altis – Toyota released the first Corolla way in 1966, and for the past 52 years, there was never a time when you could not buy a new one. Toyota made it the biggest sales board in automotive history by offering affordable cars with good performance and utility. Lately, the Corolla hatchback room has been occupied by Scion iM rejuvenated and a bit sluggish.a
It started as a Corolla in the late 60s, collecting the name ‘Altis’ during the turn of the century. Now in the 11th generation, the new Toyota Corolla Altis has a much more refined modern aesthetic, improved mechanics and a more comfortable and trendy interior, making it more attractive.
The Corolla is a credible entry to compete with Honda Civic and Chevrolet Cruze hatchbacks. But 2020 Toyota Altis will have a harder time winning a conversion from Mazda3 and VW Golf, or the Subaru Impreza hatchback with this car.

2020 Toyota Altis Engine
The only powertrain for the US is the inline-4 2.0-liter engine that Toyota says is lighter and stronger than the 132-horsepower 1.8-liter on the outgoing Corolla, and buyers will be able to choose from a 6-speed manual or CVT. The latter is said to come with a paddle shifter to sort out 10 gear simulations. The final powertrain specification will be announced at a later date.
2020 Toyota Altis Specs
The new design represents a serious improvement in quality and style for the humble Corolla, which is now in the 12th generation. The outside must be sharp, and in it, there is cohesiveness and control in the design, which you have not traditionally seen in Toyota products lately. The 8.0-inch touchscreen comes standard with Apple CarPlay compatibility, new features for Toyota, but Android Auto is still missing.
The black interior is equipped with blue lighting and chrome accents, while leather upholstery is available for the 2.0 variant. 5 people will enjoy music through 6 speakers because Automatic Climate Control keeps them cool during the trip. Airbags, ABS with the help of electronic brakes, and security alarms come as standard, with the V variant having an immobilizer.
Toyota Corolla Altis continues to maintain its classy design. There are Japanese nuances to this style, especially on the front. The updated model comes with revised front and rear bumpers, Bi-Beam LED headlamps with LED fog lamps, redesigned grille, and new wheels. Very small changes but subtly increase the appearance of the sedan.
The LED headlamps are quite powerful and offer excellent throws. The updated sedan gets a new Phantom Brown color option along with the usual colors. In addition, not many talk about Altis design because the same style is being followed for several years now.
Toyota Corolla Altis interior feels spacious and comfortable thanks to the large glass area. The layout is similar to the pre-facelift model but now you get soft touch material on the dash along with a new color scheme that is a blend of black and beige.
The controls are well laid out and the buttons are durable. Some features include 7 airbags, ABS, VSC, automatic climate control, automatic and reverse-linked automatic mirrors, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, Hill Hold, power adjustment for the driver’s seat and rear armrest. Surprisingly, the Corolla missed features like rear air-conditioning ventilation, sunroof, and ventilated seats. AC is a chiller.
2020 Toyota Altis Redesign
There is a reason why 2020 Toyota Altis is the highest seller in its segment. It does not offer an exciting driving experience like some of its competitors, but the car does what it’s commanded to do and in a good way, almost well! It excels in areas where Indian customers do not want reasons to be disappointed and ease of use, practicality, space, and comfort.
Since this is Toyota, it will probably last longer than its owner and even if you decide to sell the car, its sales value will be much better than its direct competitor and the service charge will not burn a hole in your pocket as well.
So, if you are looking for things you know, you should choose Altis. But if you are an enthusiast looking for a car involved to drive and come with modern technology, you know where to look.
The ride on the 2020 Toyota Altis is very comfortable and the suspension has been well tuned for our walks. At low speeds, the ride feels soft and luxurious and the sedan does a fair job of overcoming holes.
As speed increases, the journey becomes slightly solid and the car remains neatly arranged. The steering is light at low speed and offers satisfactory feedback. On the highway, I want the wheel to weigh more because it still feels quite light.
Corolla Altis likes to drive calmly and if you tend to carve corners every time, this one might be disappointing. The brakes offer good stopping but the pedals lack taste & some early bites and should offer better confidence.
